Blueberry Muffins

We planted this blueberry shrub 12 years ago and have removed the seven and 8-year-old canes to revitalize it, resulting in healthier and more fruitful canes. Blueberries grow on year-old wood, with the 3 to 4-year-old canes being the most productive. After 6-8 years, production declines. Blueberry shrubs should be pruned while dormant in late winter to early spring. This variety is Blue Jay.
