Learning about Fundamentals of Nursing? Obtaining a pulse is one of the most fundamental skills we can start with! Some tips for checking a pulse: 🫀Check for 30 seconds and multiply by 2 for your beats/min (this only applies for a REGULAR pulse) 🫀For irregular pulse, listen for a full minute & notify provider right away if new onset 🫀Prior to administration of certain medications (ex: Digoxin), obtain an apical pulse for 1 minute 🫀NEVER check a pulse with your thumb. Your thumb has its own p
