I can run the basic Civ IV game on my PC while BtS can't even get loaded.Whenever I play, screen goes black and nothing happens.I checked my event log it says

Aug 26, 2015 · The retail version of Civ 4 uses an unsupported DRM and as such won't work on Win 10 because of that. HOWEVER you can contact 2K Support and request a Steam key, as the Steam version doesn't use said DRM. This worked for me. They emailed me the same day and provided a Steam key at no charge. Thanks for the suggestion.

Jul 20, 2015 · I have been able to play both Civ 5 and Civ 4 on Windows 10. Sounds like somehow the binkw32.dll is missing. . What OS did you upgrade from? Do you have the disk version or are you launching from steam? (civ v I believe is only available on steam). Can you try re-syncing files via steam?
