The Duesenberg automobiles are amongst the most prestigious, technologically advanced, and stylish of the Classic Era. The Duesenberg Model A, introduced in 1920, was America’s first production straight-eight-cylinder engine car and the first American vehicle produced with four-wheel hydraulic brakes.

The first Cord automobile was produced by the Auburn Automobile Company. This automobile, the Cord L-29, was the first ever successful mass-production front-wheel drive automobile in America.

The story of the Auburn Automobile Company (1903–1937) is woven throughout 16 galleries and restored offices connecting with visitors as a microcosm of the automobile industry. Study trips that meet Indiana Academic Standards are taught by licensed professionals.

The museum provides innovative exhibits and educational programs, grounded in scholarly research, to inform a diverse audience representing all 50 states and over 40 countries annually of our nation's automotive heritage using the Auburn Automobile Company, Duesenberg, Inc., and the Cord Corporation as a microcosm of the industry.
