Menard's vs. Lowe's vs. Home Depot - LumberJocks Woodworking …
2010年1月25日 · I think I'm a little spoiled though, within 10 miles of me I have Ace hardware, Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, Rockler, and Woodcraft So I tend to hit up the big box stores first because they are cheaper and then move to the woodworking stores when I can't find specific tools from the others. For wood though I only would buy plywood from the big ...
Consumer vs professional power tools - LumberJocks …
2019年11月5日 · There is a difference in quality in almost everything sold in the box stores compared to supply houses from plumbing to tools. The reason Hilti stopped selling their tools in home depot was because home depot wanted them to make a cheaper version of their tools for them. Hilti refused to do it. I got this info right from a Hilti rep.
doors.. part 3 - LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2025年1月15日 · I am still on the fence about using MDF as part of the core pieces in a stave core setup vs just pure 2x6 wood. I am not discounting what many have responded with, but also look at how folks built stuff LONG before all the tools I have, let alone the pro shops that build doors. So as a few said.. I will first experiment with some cabinet doors.
Delta scroll saw - can I get rid of quickset II chucks?
2015年11月24日 · The Lowes near me has a bunch of drawers containing specialty bolts in the hardware department. I know they have larger sizes of grade 8 hex head bolts so they might have what you need. The higher the grade #, the better the bolt - look for the lines stamped on the bolt head pointing toward outward from the center toward the hex edges - the ...
Making doors, part 2 | LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2025年1月6日 · My advice would be to not buy tools, etc., to go into door production, until after you're thoroughly familiar with using said tools/equipment. I would also not tackle a job of this scope without a shaper and power feeder. If it were me, I would opt for paying for custom made doors and replacing a few of the show doors.
US Tool Depot Legit? - LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2024年3月4日 · Us Tool Depot has it on their website for $216. I called them and asked if it was in stock and they said they would check and call me back. They seem to be a small company And I am sure if they keep any stock. I have read people bought Grizzly stuff like bandsaws and table saws but had to wait months for delivery.

Of the big names Grizzly seems to be the one that best meets my budget. Let me get some more info, the size of my shop and what tools I currently have. Rikon or Jet Bandsaw | LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2021年6月17日 · Now, for those reading this and still interested in getting a the Jet (because it seems pretty great, too), I'm going to share a discovery I made today: While Rockler has it on backorder and is charging $145 for shipping, Home Depot claims to have 328 units available to ship FOR FREE to my house or my local store and arrive within in the next ...
First project: Flip-top tool stand from Shopnotes
2012年8月8日 · Now that the tools are up and running, I decided to jump right in and build something out of ShopNotes. This is the very first thing that I've ever "constructed." My goal was to spend less than $20 on it. So I took about a month of gathering scraps from Home Depot and claiming hardware from Freecycle before starting.
