The Mat Project provides free comprehensive yoga programming to women and youth who are underserved or have experienced trauma. Through yoga, we build confidence and empowerment. Through scholarships, we provide educational and employable teaching opportunities.

We provide a safe space to experience self-empowerment. An opportunity to build confidence, and finally, the option for educational and career opportunities through our yoga teacher training scholarship program. We journal, we talk, we breathe, we move our body, we take care of ourselves. We’re The Mat Project! established 2018.

The Mat Project is a Cleveland-based nonprofit that provides yoga and mindfulness programming serving women and the youth who are undeserved or have experienced trauma within our community. Through the program, Alysia and her team build confidence and empowerment along with scholarships while providing educational and employable opportunities.

The Mat Project is our charity of the month for January 2024. The Mat Project provides trauma informed yoga programming to those who are at-risk and underserved. They do this by working with community partners to increase access to yoga in our community.
