2024年12月23日 · 1050 fps with 147's from a 4" barrel is smoking hot. You are likely to be over the speed of sound from a longer barrel and probably hotter than +P chamber pressures. A "normal" 147 grain load runs 950 fps from a 4" barrel. Most of the powders you listed are rifle powders, or magnum pistol powders, totally unsuitable for 9mm.

2021年6月14日 · -COMPACT: A tight package with 20" ballistics in a non-trivial thing. People seem to forget that 5.56 (and most others) is all about speed, and hitting at >2700 FPS is a catagory change. A 20" bullpup has about the same OAL as a 10.5" AR. The distances to 2700 fps is about 150+ yards compared to about 5 yards in a 10.5".-Brass-In-Face.

2024年12月21日 · I get 2700 fps using VihtaVuori N530 with 107 grain SMK's when fired from a 24" barrel. Off the top of my head, I was using 27.0 grains, but don't quote me on that. I think VihtaVuori discontinued that powder, but I'm not sure about that either. Accuracy flirted with .5 moa from my 18" upper, 1.25" from the 24" barrel. Five shot groups.

2024年10月16日 · 46K psi is a good amount of less pressure on parts than 50K psi, right? And if you really want to up the pressures to get every last fps with supers, use the 6.8 SPC case to form your Spectre case along with small rifle primers. It is a bit more work (lots of trimming and possible neck reaming) but then you can push pressures up to 54 K psi.

2024年9月28日 · Looks like a 16” to me. IMO, with 250-300 gr. bullets at 1800-2000 fps, I feel it would be affective out to 150-200 yards before trajectory gets too steep. Sixteen inch, 12 inch, even 10 inch, there’s not that much difference in velocity. My 18” .458 shoots 250 Monoflex around 1950 fps while my 6.750” shoots the same load at 1750ish fps.
