2021年10月14日 · EverCoat Slicksand High Build Polyester Spray Filler DFT 6 mils Based on DFTs for above mentioned products, for a sprayable pore filler on oak, I’d opt for polyester….but I wouldn’t apply wet on wet…rather, I’d allow each coat to dry and knock each coat down with sandpaper in order to minimize the chances for developing pinholes.

2018年5月19日 · Bondo has a wood filler? I agree it will dry faster because it dries chemically like any epoxy. I do use their red topping compound for wood trim inside but that's just surface level and very thin. I've seen wood rot kits, which is also an epoxy, but that would be pricey for 300 holes. Also, I'd be worried about Elmers sticking to the Bondo.

2012年6月10日 · I'm wondering what everyone uses to fill holes and patch on previously painted exterior wood. I don't remember the name of the product that I used on some window trim, but after a few days I noticed the spots started to crack and split through the 2 coats of satin paint. In a perfect world, I would prefer something that can sand easily.

2014年7月2日 · The only places I've seen problems is on window sills. My own house (1865 victorian) has recurring cracking on the outer top edge of the window sills. Despite stripping to bare wood, sealing with Smith's Penetrating Epoxy Sealer, filling and coating the tops with FlexTek, oil base primer, and latex topcoat, the cracks always return.

2009年6月30日 · One Strike Filler If you have not encountered it before, Everbuild do a fantastic Lightweight ready mix filler that goes off in like 10-15 mins for use interior or exterior work. Although it's not classed as a wood filler you can use it on wood all the same.

2020年11月1日 · I'm restraining exterior cedar siding with solid color stain. I had to do a lot of scraping of the old stain where it was pealing off the siding. Now i have a very uneven surface even after sanding where the old stain meets the bare wood. Can I use latex caulk to fill in the scraped areas to smooth the surface?

2016年8月28日 · I have used Elmer's Damaged Wood System and had good results. Once you dig out all the loose material you saturate the rotten wood with the hardener. It dries rock hard and then the two part epoxy filler can be used. It is a bit difficult to get a smooth patch, and once it is dry it takes a palm sander to get it smooth, but it works well and ...

2019年10月31日 · It bonds exceptionally well to both wood and primed surfaces. It’s hard enough that it works well on outside corner repairs. It does experience the usual shrinkage, typically requiring 2 applications. I’d say it sands sort of between that of a polyester filler and a conventional vinyl wood filler.

2017年10月8日 · The wood filler actually expands when hit with a heat gun, completely filling the hole and expanding so that it can be sanded smooth. Since the cabinet job we've used it countless times because of the lack of cure time. Excellent for exterior wood rot like windows, door jambs, etc. The owner John Pojman is an excellent guy too.
