Co-Op Gaming - Reddit
My friend and I like to play some co-op games online, but his laptop isn't that great. For reference, we like to play Worms WMD, played Dead Rising 2, Resident Evil 5, all good fun. Portal 2 was great as well. We tried the 2016 Dead Island version, but it was too slow on his laptop. I'm aware of the Trine series, waiting for it to get on sale.

Unrailed is a local co-op rogue-like that gets pretty much intense like Overcooked and PlateUp. Have to work together to lay down railroad tracks to the next train station. Vampire Survivors is now 4 players local co-op. Super engaging. Online coop is in the works. Enter the Gungeon is local 2 players bullet hell rogue-like Maybe Tallowmere 1 or 2.

So, there's four types of simultaneous multiplayer connectivity (shared-screen (or couch), LAN (not sure if ad-hoc is supported in iOS), WAN, MMO) and at least two types of multiplayer style (co-op or vs., which in MMOs would be PVE and PVP).

2021年9月20日 · A Way Out and It Takes Two. They are both designed to be played as 2 person co-op games instead of it being a bolt on, both platformer/puzzle types and were fun. Some of the Splinter Cells also have co-op. Dying Light is pretty good too - it does have shooting but its also Mirrors Edge style parkour stuff and exploration, crafting etc.

And don’t judge the book by its cover here! Because this game has both controller support, online co-op, LAN co-op, AND it’s completely free without ads or in-app purchases.

Spiritfarer and Chicory: A Colorful Tale are both great cozy co-op games, but they each deal with some 'heavy' themes (death and mental health). Spiritfarer is platformer/base-builder where you help spirits move on. Chicory is mostly puzzles with some combat where you help restore a world that's been drained of its colour by colouring things in.

Almost every damn game for the 90s arcades had two player co-op or at least VS. It's incredible how much more coop games there are for the arcade as compared to say snes or PS1. Even the comments on this thread are all console games. Arcade is a damn treasure trove of gems. If you like playing 2 player co-op, I strongly recommend digging into it.
