2007年7月26日 · I walked on a plywood sheathed deck a few years ago after getting used to the OSB decks, there was so much popping and snapping of the wood that I didn't know if I wanted to go to the ridge or just get back down and let someone else do the roof. I had to talk myself into staying up there because this was a regular customer.

2004年12月29日 · Have never had a problem with 7/16 or 1/2 inch OSB as far as sagging in 15 years. We use plywood for setting up protecting the winows on houses. leave a piece of 1/2 inch cdx and a piece of 1/2 inch OSB out in the weather for a couple a months the cdx will warp and separate. the OSB will swell up only.

2010年7月12日 · im not a roofing contractor but ive seen my share and I would not use ply wood on a roof i have seen it bow and buckl time after time thats old school now most commonly used is 3/4 5/8 advantec t&g or 5/8 osb they sell it up here for roofing it strong and wont buckl but if you can spend the extra $ advantec is the way to go you can leave it out side for ever and it wont …

2021年8月27日 · Hi, installing new roof. I noticed rust leeching out from the roofing nails in the new 5/8 plywood roof after a few days of foggy weather prior to bitumen going on.

2008年7月19日 · So now they install 3/8 plywood over the top of whatever crap is in place, so that the owner sees a "new" roof, and they can stick the I&W along the eaves and valleys and have it work. By my reading of the code, the plywood counts as an additional layer, so this approach blows the 2-layer maximum rule out the window.

2012年5月30日 · Shown are 3 photos from an estimate/inspection I was at. The structure is less than 10 years old. The rear roof plane is buckling plywood all over - to the point where it lifted drip edge 2" off the roof. The facts:-4:12 pitch-Full Ice and Water, OC Duration shingle-No leaks.

2010年11月23日 · Here we can only use nails, we commonly use 8d or 2 1/2" .131 diameter, and somtimes 2 1/2" galvanized ring shanks, nailed 4-6" on the seams and 8" in the field. We cannot use OSB plywood either. Near the coast we must glue down our first run of plywood.

2011年9月4日 · its really common here too , to see 3/8 plywood used on roofs from the 70's. we resheet with 1/2 osb right over top of the old all the time be it 3/8 ply or old t&g boards in the case of the old t&g boards, it makes for a flatter surface plus greatly lessons the chance of nailing into the gap between boards.

2009年5月14日 · However, yes, the element goes between the substraight and the EPDM. We prefer laying 1/4" plywood over the top of the element to protect it for the time in the future when the EPDM needs replacement and the element doesn't. The removal of the plywood with the EPDM will allow continued use of the element. Look up Zmesh under non-metalic surfaces.

2006年6月22日 · Howdy roofing guys. I'm a painter with a roofing question. My home was built in 1935. It's been added onto and repaired in sections before I owned it. It is now time for a new roof. The current roof looks to have three layers of shingles so a tear of is necessary. I've contacted a local roofer who has been great to deal with.
