Uluru (/ ˌ uː l ə ˈ r uː /; Pitjantjatjara: Uluṟu [ˈʊlʊɻʊ]), also known as Ayers Rock (/ ˈ ɛər z / AIRS) and officially gazetted as Uluru / Ayers Rock, [1] is a large sandstone monolith.
