Given that we are dealing with an additional inch of thickness over standard 1/2" sheathing, I'd say 12d fasteners (3 1/4") would be minimum. Most people specifying subfloor sheathing type aren't fine-tuning spans, they just pick 16" or 24" to start with, pick a floor loading or deflection criteria, and decide thickness from that.
