Crews were called around 8 p.m. Sunday to residence on Lakeview Road in the community of Matheson Island, located at the narrows of Lake Winnipeg, a little over 200 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

It sits on the eastern side of Lake Winnipeg, North America’s sixth largest freshwater lake. The lake and its surrounding beaches are a remnant of the prehistoric Glacial Lake Agassiz.
