Heading into this year’s SAG Awards, Martin Short had five previous nominations. Sunday night, the veteran actor-comedian won his first SAG Award at the age of 74 in the Male Actor In a Comedy Series category for his role as Oliver Putnam on Only Murders In the Building.

The actor won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for "Only Murders in the Building." Who could have predicted that Lorne Michaels assembling a rag-tag group of comedians for a little sketch comedy program in 1975 would eventually result in Martin Short being unable to accept his first SAG award?
