As of Friday, Gorsich was doing anything he could to support the Genesis Invitational while also overseeing his own tour event with 75 golfers playing into Saturday’s final round, toward an overall purse of $9 million and a winner’s check of $1.67 million.

The PGA Tour announced Friday that next month’s Genesis Invitational, which traditionally has been played at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., will be moved to Torrey Pines outside San Diego because of the fires that have ravaged the Los Angeles area.

The Genesis Invitational gets underway on the 13th February and, along with the guaranteed starters, multiple sponsor exemptions have been granted to various players
