Google is discontinuing sales of the Chromecast with Google TV, including both the 4K and HD models, after nearly five years on the market.

Google introduced the Google TV Streamer, a sleek set-top-box, as a replacement for the old Google Chromecast products. Soon after launching the new content streaming device, the search titan said that it is no longer making new units of the old Chromecast products.

When the Google TV Streame r made its debut in August of last year, Google also announced the demise of the Chromecast family of streaming sticks. Google has a reputation for killing useful, beloved products, but the Chromecast did have a near 12--year run, mostly being subsumed by the more powerful, more expensive Streamer.

While you might be able to pick up the last few from third-party retailers, the Google Store no longer sells Chromecast with Google TV streaming dongles.
