Salmon Arm city council found it hard to reach a decision about a request for a memorial bench for the late Salmon Arm firefighter, Jim Nickles.

Vandals scrawled antisemitic graffiti on at least four public memorial benches this week ... said a family member who bought a bench plaque — which can cost between $5,000 and $10,000.
