The rare Wroughton's free-tailed bat, previously found in the Western Ghats, northeast India, and Cambodia, has been sighted for the first time in north India at the Yamuna Biodiversity Park.
New Delhi: Wroughton's free-tailed bat, a highly rare species, has been sighted at the Yamuna Biodiversity Park, marking its first appearance in north India, said experts on Tuesday.
As the Yamuna river flows, it cleaves the Indian capital of Delhi into two halves. On the eastern side, the Asita East park project has become a haven for local flora and fauna, particularly birds.
