The hiking trails are amazing. Challenging, informative, and a real workout. Signage is very confused and confusing so you can't really count on the hand outs for proper direction or information. That said, the circuit trail is an amazing trip back through history and really puts you in touch with the good, bad, and fascinating history of Fort Pillow. An amazing site supported by absolutely fantastic people - top notch park and an experience of a lifetime. Sorry, got distracted by my wonderful memories of Fort Pillow State Park.....the trails are well done in some places, poorly maintained in others, and almost non-existent in many places. I don't think that most people make the full walking tour so maintenance is limited to the areas covered by average walkers. We were looking forward to making the entire loop but that just wasn't possible due to the condition of the wilderness trail. Still a fantastic day spent at Fort Pillow State Park and it won't be forgotten.
